Details

Note: this is a follow-up for Bug 1194784

Reproducible on: Firefox 43.0a1, Firefox 42.0a2 and Firefox 41 RC across all platforms

Prerequisites: xpinstall.signatures.required = true

STR
1.Download an unsigned/preliminarily reviewed add-on (or erase the META-INF folder of a signed add-on)
2.Extract the files from the XPI into the <profile>/extensions/<ID>.xpi
3.Start Firefox.

ER
The unsigned sideloaded add-on is automatically disabled and the yellow notification bar about disabling some of the unsigned add-ons is successfully displayed when Firefox starts.

AR
The unsigned sideloaded add-on is successfully disabled in Add-ons Manager, but the notification yellow bar is not displayed.

Additional notes:
- This issue is reproducible on Firefox 43.0a1 (2015-09-14), Firefox 42.0a2 (2015-09-14) and Firefox 41 RC (20150914185908) under Windows 7 64-bit, Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit and Mac Os X 10.10.5.
- This issue is also reproducible for a preliminarily reviewed add-on when it is installed via sideloaded method.
Flags: qe-verify+
This is actually behaving as expected. The notification bar you refer to is only intended to appear when users switch to builds that disabled some of their already installed add-ons. We intentionally don't notify the user about unverified sideloaded add-ons when they are first installed.
