GitHub has no way (at least publicly advertised) to disable pull requests for a repo.

The read-only gecko-dev GitHub repo often gets pull requests from people who've not read the repo message, eg:
https://github.com/mozilla/gecko-dev/pulls

Please can:
(a) someone close the currently open PRs
(b) someone be allocated for doing this on a regular basis

Also, I wonder if GitHub can disable PRs if they are contacted?

I used to occasionally close open PRs (eg https://github.com/mozilla/gecko-dev/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aclosed+sort%3Acomments-desc), but no longer have access to gecko-dev after the recent changes (which I don't mind; I didn't really have the time to do it anyway :-)).

Thanks!

Context: the vcs-sync app run by developer services, maintains several "read only" repositories on github (and other servers). The committable repository is always somewhere else for these repos, and no pull request is actionable.

So, long term, the answer needs to come from there. I'll open a bug to address that. (This was a "hidden service" being provided by some good folks, so it had missed becoming a requirement for vcs-sync.

Short term, I've kick up the privileges of the "vcs2vcs" team on the gecko-* repos that are affected, so human team members can close the PRs. So again, the developer services team will address.
