Something's seriously screwed up networking recently. I've seen subtle effects elsewhere, but it's 100% reproducable on BBC News. Clean profile, clean cache. Load http://news.bbc.co.uk/. Observe it loads fine. All 52 (or so) objects come in. Type in some other page... say, http://google.com/, let it load. Return to http://news.bbc.co.uk/ (for me, it's a PT bookmark). Observe the right-most column WILL NOT load. The page spins and spins, the tab circle thing go round, the throbber throbs, it'll sit there forever. Hit reload. Observe the same thing: right column never shows. Spins and spins. Hit shift-reload. Observe right column load normally, just like first visit. This is pretty serious, I've seen other pages spining a lot since the pre-freeze check-in dash, and the web has felt, in general, slower. When it was the same again today, I figured we have a problem. Linux 2002011606.
WORKSFORME linux 2002011708 ... perhaps you're seeing something that got fixed yesterday as a regression from the pre-midnight madness??

Still seeing this, 2002011806 (8 minutes old). 100% reproducable. Reload doesn't load the right column, ever. Shift reload, and first visit is fine. Also, When I said yesterday it spins forEVER, I meant it. Doesn't seem to be ANY timeout. I ran some errands, came back 4 hours later, and it was still trying. Had also leaked a great deal.
Very troubling, but still seeing this, exactly as originally described. 100% Reproducable with 2002040308 Linux.

interesting, i'm not able to repro the problem w/ the 2002-04-02/11 build under linux. perhaps this has something to do with the way you are connecting to the internet? are you connecting via a proxy server? at any rate, can you enable some environment variables to collect a log of network activity? export NSPR_LOG_MODULES=nsHttp:5 export NSPR_LOG_FILE=http.log and then please upload "http.log" to this bug report, thx!
After being 100% reproducable for months, it seems to work now. Linux 2002042708 (1.0 branch).
