Description:
When the user opens the USB Storage option of settings, they will see radio buttons for MTP and UMS transfer protocols. They are not given any information about the distinction between the two.
MTP is not natively supported by all operating systems and programs, and the user may become confused that the device is not functioning.
Additionally, specifically on the Aries device, UMS does not provide full USB storage functionality, and will only share an inserted SD card (if present) with the computer, and does not share the internal storage at all. (see bug 1171270). UMS is also still selectable on the Aries device when an SD card is not present.
Repro Steps:
1) Update a Aries to 20150921152621
2) Open the Settings app
3) Navigate to USB Storage
4) Note the MTP and UMS radio button options
Actual:
The Radio button options are not given any description of their behavior or limitations.
Expected:
The user is given information for what to expect with the two different transfer protocol options.
Environmental Variables:

This issue DOES occur on Flame 2.5 and 2.2
The user is not given information on the difference between MTP and UMS transfer protocols

-This issue is not as severe, considering internal storage can be properly shared via UMS on the Flame device.

I agree with Martin that it is hard for a user to understand the difference between MTP & UMS. However, it is also hard to provide a meaningful description that user can easily understand. I would view UMS & MTP as advanced settings that ordinary users will probably just stick with the default settings. For advanced users, they will know the differences and set the protocol that they need.
