User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150827075926

Steps to reproduce:

I did not do anything. Since the recent updates Firefox for Fedora has not been able to reproduce voice in google translate. It could do so in previous versions. The "listen" button does not work.

Actual results:

An update has broken something or the update is missing something that makes google translate voice work in Fedora.

Expected results:

Google Translate Voice should either work or a message should come up asking for the installment of an extra codec or plugin if that is missing.

WFM with FF41 on Win 7.

Could you test with a fresh profile, please.

Do you see any error messages in the browser console when clicking on the voice button?

Content is audio/mpeg, so this is bound to be a duplicate of bug 1153754.

Hi Loic, I don't see any error messages. I will try with a fresh profile and let you know although I doubt that's the case. I am using Fedora and no non- free codecs or flash as outlined in Fedora's policy.

I am just in after a refresh (tune up) of Firefox. Nope still the same issue, no changes.
Are you using a distro build?
Not sure what you mean exactly by distro build but I am using Fedora, with Firefox installed from it's official repositories, coming pre-installed into the system as the main browser.
Fedora can't include certain codecs because they are proprietary and/or patented, however with certain previous versions of Firefox I could use voice in google translate just fine.

Yes. That is what I meant by is a distro build, i.e. a build provided by your Linux distribution.
