The ability to minimize toolbars is not enough. I need to be
able to remove unused toolbars from my screen. They clutter
the interface with little collapsed bars that do nothing but
take up space.

Naturally, Mozilla also needs to be able to remember these
settings from window to window and from session to session.
This may not be in current development list. don, am I wrong?
We should be doing the same thing as in 4.x where if you hide a toolbar from the
menu it disappears while if you collapse it, it becomes a small grippy.
Summary: Should be able to control which toolbars are displayed → [RFE] Should be able to control which toolbars are displayed
Target Milestone: M14
So is this a feature?

fix checked in
Status: RESOLVED → REOPENED
I'm reopening because it's not quite implemented right. It's a UI thing.
when I pull down View|Toolbars there should be a check next to every
toolbar currently visible (all by default). Then I can 'uncheck' it and make
it go away. Basically, the user needs some visual indication ofthe show/hide
status.
I'm looking at the 1999091508 build on WinNT
I am closing again. The reason is that checking menus is an XPToolkit feature
which hasn't been implimented yet. This is really a variation on the fact that
we don't do menu updates right now.

Re-opening. There's one specific corner case that is not properly handled; please
let me know if you'd like me to break this into a separate bug report, and close
this one out as verified.

1. Minimize the toolbars using the downward facing rectangles
2. From View | Toolbars, uncheck one of the minimized toolbars

---> The minimized toolbar remains on-screen. Clicking upon the downward facing
rectangle does not maximize the toolbar.
There's also a second corner case --- if you minimize the taskbar, the build ID
(on Mac OS) overlaps the grow box, blocking the last two digits of the build ID.
Will file a separate bug on that.

Verification/re-opening was performed on:
	- Mac OS (1999 11/11 12:00)
	- Windows NT 4.0 SP5 (1999 11/11 08:00)
	- Linux (1999 11/11 08:00)
[Broke second corner case into bug #18667]

reassign to Pink. I assume the problem is that the toolbar code will not hide
collapsed toolbars.
