This is a feature suggestion!

Want to attach image on disk using 

MENU:Insert > SUBMENU:Image

from the message compose window.

Enter image location with "~" prepended ... Nope, can't find it.

Enter image location with "$HOME" prepended ... Nope, can't find it

Enter image location "/home/user/" prepended ... Nope can't find it.

Amazingly, 

file:///home/user/the/image.jpg

DOES work. Look like only URLs are allowed in that text field? (Where are the civilian users who think like that?)

Should have found an image in the following cases:

* ~ user expansion
* environment variable used in path
* URL used

instead of only in the case
