As a member of the growth team at Mozilla, I use Spreadsheet daily.
I've observed that large spreadsheets consistently crash my browser. Hell, it even crashed OSX once too.
I have observed that Chrome has no trouble loading the sheet.
Here is an example of a sheet that causes the browser to crash. (it's an actual sheet I use so it's locked to Mozilla employees)

Can you please link to the relevant crash reports? See about:crashes.

It's really weird because there are no crashes reported in about:crashes
Any other relevant info I can provide? Console log?
Version: FX Dev Edition 43.0a2 (2015-10-09)
OSX: 10.11

Speaking to Nick (CC'd), he said I should mention that it was just hanging for like 10-15 minutes.
I then tried to force quit it. That didn't work either because although it looked closed, I could then no longer open Firefox.
After a few minutes, I tried to restart my computer but it wouldn't let me because it said it couldn't force close Firefox. No processes were identified so there was nothing I could kill. (no user or system processes)
I eventually had to hard shut down my laptop (which made me cry inside).
The fun part was when Firefox restored my tabs and it hung again due to that spreadsheet. (and so the story repeats itself)

Ah. So not actually crashing, that explains why no entry in about:crashes. ;)
I just tried loading that spreadsheet in both a recent nightly and recent devedition build, and it works just fine (though on OS X 10.10, in case that matters).
Do you have any extensions installed? Do you see the problem in safe mode? A new profile?

Sorry I haven't answered.
Yes, I have many extension installed. Perhaps a dozen.
I haven't had the chance to test in safe mode or with a new profile.
I have observed that since one of the more recent updates of dev edition, I have not had any problems opening the above spreadsheet.
I will close this ticket for now and re-open it if I observe additional problems with large sheets like one above.
