Created attachment 8672053 [details] Screenshot of blackened sheet User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:41.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/41.0 Build ID: 20150929144111 Steps to reproduce: Start a google spreadsheet. Do some work on it. Actual results: At some point (cannot reproduce it under a recognizable pattern) a (single left) click on a cell (can be any position on the sheet) makes the sheet black and unworkable (screenshot attached). The spreadsheet itself is not harmed, using Ctrl-F5 the tab is reloaded without problem. Happens after version 39.0, tried on firefox 40.0.2, 40.0.3, 41.0.1 on Ubuntu Desktop 14.04. I have tried to empty the cache, removed the ~/.mozilla directory completely and start from the beginning etc but the problem persists. Expected results: Sheet should have been left without
Hello Konstantinos, I am not able to reproduce this bug on firefox 42.0 or Nightly 45.0a1 on Ubuntu Desktop 14.04. Are you still encountering this problem? thank you, Justin
yes, I saw it again in the latest installation of ubuntu/firefox I did for my daughter about ten days ago (I don't have access to the laptop to provide more detailed info on the exact version, but it was the latest available from the firefox site at that time). The installation was completely fresh, therefore all .mozilla, .local, ... were all new. If you want to see the packages I am installing, take a look at http://knanagnostopoulos.blogspot.gr/2015/03/ubuntu-1404-my-favorite-list-of-apps.html thanks.
Component: Web Apps → Untriaged
Marco, If the component would not be Web Apps then what would it be? We are cleaning up all of the untriaged bugs.
Web Apps is for bugs about Firefox's webapp installer (i.e. the feature that creates a launcher when the user approves an installation request). I'd put this bug in Core::Graphics probably.
Component: Untriaged → Graphics
Product: Firefox → Core
Thank you for the help Marco!
Konstantinos, can you please attach a copy of about:support to this bug and confirm if this happens with the latest Firefox release from mozilla.org (not the Ubuntu distributed version)?
Summary: Google Spreadsheets on Firefox: Click on cells sometimes blackens the whole sheet → Clicking on cells in Google spreadsheet sometimes blackens the whole sheet

Hi Anthony, I attached the files that you asked for. I can confirm that the bug exists for firefox 42.0 downloaded today from the firefox.com site (64bit, Linux). Actions I did today: . opened my google drive page . opened 2-3 already created spreadsheets and created a new one. I did random actions on the new one (keyed numbers/strings then press enter, no menu commands, no right clicks or other commands,no other pages open or acted upon) and left mouse clicked on many random cells on each of the sheets. After many clicks, one of the sheets became black and unusable like in the original screenshot, first from the top of the sheet to the row where I made the click and then each subsequent click on visible cells made the sheet black up to the cell that I clicked. Thank you.
Thanks, can you please confirm this happens with a new Firefox profile using the version you downloaded from mozilla.org? Basically go to the folder where you installed it in terminal and run ./firefox-bin -P -no-remote and create a new profile. Do *not* install any add-ons and just try to reproduce this bug. Thanks.
