This issue DOES occur on Aries 2.5 and Flame 2.2 and DOES NOT Flame 2.5. The search bar is supposed to be hidden by default. The real bug here is that the artists and albums views are *not* hiding the search bar by default. This issue, however, is resolved in Bug 1212791 and is caused by not having enough content in the list for the search bar to be scrolled off-screen.
