I spent some time looking into the xml string pool allocation code and didn't find anything obvious. Without clear STR I'm afraid there's not much I can do at that point. If the frequency kicks up I can dig further into the libexpat code, but I'm not particularly an expert here, so that's going to take a fair amount of effort. Looking at the crash stats this looks like it's more common on startup and has happened at least once on Linux so it's probably not OS dependent. It is interesting that we're seeing a consistent address, 0XBE, but this doesn't appear to map to an obvious offset we'd see in null deref for any of the structures involved.
