User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:41.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/41.0
Build ID: 20151014143721
Steps to reproduce:
Thunderbird 42 beta 2, both, Linux and Win7
Subscribed to the free Dilbert Daily Newsletter and get the daily email with the comic.
The problem can be seen with other HTML messages pulling in remote content.
Actual results:
Upon opening the email, it pulls in remote content - the actual comic. As expected, the 'Thunderbird has blocked remote content' notification pops up.
Pressing the 'Preferences' button, there is no option to allow remote content for the domain dilbert.com anymore.
There is only the option to allow remote content for the sender's email address dilbert@email.dilbert.com.
Expected results:
There should be an option to allow remote content for the domain dilbert.com.
This did work in Thunderbird 41 beta.

Can you attach a sample (as .eml)
Or are you using a too old build? Bug 1193200 is landed in in tb42.

The Dilbert newsletter is just one example. It does happen with other HTML messages too, e.g. email notifications from SUMO.
Happens in safe mode too.
