STR - in any page click the "Bookmark this Page" toolbar button (for the page to be bookmarked), then click the button again: you'll notice that the bookmark is created in "Unsorted Bookmarks". Now click the button once more and Press (Remove Bookmark). - Now rightclick anywhere in the page and click the 'star' contextual button: you'll notice that the bookmark now is created in "Bookmarks Menu" instead. In both cases the bookmark should be created in the same location.
for how much it may sound crazy, this was done on purpose to distinguish simply starred bookmarks from actually edited ones. This may change once UX comes with a new bookmarking interaction experience, but for now there's no plan to change it.
