121718 - POP3 mail fetcher adds blank line for every line of message

Seen both under Win98 and Linux, mozilla 0.9.7 build ID: 2001122106
The email that is received into the mail app, when fetching from POP3 (sorry, I
don't have other type accounts) is rendered as double-space: 

After every original line of the message, another blank line is inserted (extra
CR, so it becomes CR CR LF (where the pop server's version of the file has CR LF
pairs -> this doesn't happen when the source message only has LF's!!!)). All
this I verified under a hex dump of the files, comparing the server's version
and mozilla's 'save as file' version.

An harmful effect of this is that the mail app can't figure out headers,
attachments, or anything important, so I get a list of empty strings for the
thread pane (not to mention that it's annoying to read double spaced email).

Is this still a problem on recent builds?  Which pop server do you use?

Nope, I haven't seen it in recent versions...
