Actually, it's from bug	1203159 and the appropriate pieces of https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/3f174efd3a89 need porting to Thunderbird, very probably just the app.mozbuild and package-manifest changes. Edmund is working on the same thing for SeaMonkey in bug 1217661.

This situation might be resolved in bug 1217687 generally for all apps.
With the patch from bug 1217687 TB builds again.
