1218608 - Consider exposing send tab to device in tabs tray

I was going through my tabs tray, where I opened a lot of tabs. I wanted to organize my tabs, which amounted to sending to the devices I expected to read them on – it turned out to be clunky. I needed to:
1 select the tab
2 open the toolbar menu
3 click the share plane
4 select a device
5 open the tabs tray
6 close the tab

The tabs tray interface is intended to be for "managing tabs" so it could be cool to provide more of this functionality (e.g. perhaps we can also include Android system share in the tab tray?).

If this is not something we want to ship in the main line, perhaps we can create an add-on API to add buttons to tabs in the tabs tray for these to be added after-the-fact.

Anthony, what do you think? Have you given any thought to this before?

Indeed :) and I'm glad you noticed this potential!

This ability to "triage" in one way or another (not unlike a gallery of photos) is definitely something I've been thinking about.  I've also mentioned this briefly when I proposed the new tabs tray on Mobile.

Given the chance, I think a "long-press to select" interaction would fit well here. This would then trigger an action bar of "actions" including send, share, delete, etc.

Here's a peek of the design I had in mind. 

In the name of focus though, I'd say this is still more of a "v2/v3" right now for our current mobiles tabs tray.
