Yeah, I think this was something that Sebastian removed for simplicity.
I didn't think it needed its own separate state anyways since the Page title, Tab preview, and close button should all be "1 tab" anyways. This didn't really make sense to keep around.

Yeah, we discussed this along with the changes in bug 1217003. We created parity with the grid by introducing the different style for selected tiles (and removed the pressed state). Technically with duplicateParentState we duplicate all states now (pressed, selected, ..) and this created an odd effect when the tab was pressed.
