From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.7+) Gecko/20020125 BuildID: 2002012503 I have images set to never animate. While viewing an animated gif (banner ad) in the media tab of the page info dialog, it animates. This seems proper to me. However, when I close the page info window and return to the web page, the banner ad is animating as well. It seems to work every time on slashdot, spottily the other places I've tried it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to slashdot.org 2. Bring up the media tab of the view page info tool 3. Close the view page info window 4. See that the banner is animating. Actual Results: Banner ad was animating Expected Results: Banner ad should have been frozen at first frame

This appears to have been fixed somewhat. Banners continue to animate on the page when they are viewed with the media tab of Page Info. They now stop animating when the Page Info dialog is closed. Definite improvement, especially for something that was probably accidental :) This was tested with RC3.

I'm not seeing that it is fixed here. It animates when I view the image in the media tab, and it doesn't stop when I close the page info dialogue. I don't believe that it should animate on the page in the first place when you view the image in the media tab. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Reopen?

I'm pretty sure this was actually working, but that was more than a year ago. It seems that the problem has reappeared, but at this point it should probably be filed as a new regression bug, rather than reopening this one.
