here's about:support.  The graphics driver regularly has problems on this machine (BSOD once / month) especially when using Vidyo.  I saw an error message relating to the graphics driver earlier today.

Those errors are D2DERR_RECREATE_TARGET, from SourceSurfaceD2D1::GetDataSurface, as in SourceSurfaceD2D1::mDC is "bad", which means DrawTargetD2D1::mDC is bad.

This happens with other signatures, in crash reports:

Patrick, it would also be useful to know if this happen on other Firefox releases (e.g., Beta, Dev Edition, Nightly), so if you have time to install one of those and run it and let us know, it'd be of great help.

I have them installed already - but I've rebooted and now all the UI paints correctly.  As soon as I have another fault, I will try to replicate in other releases.

D3DERR_RECREATE_TARGET means the device associated with a D2D DrawTarget has been reset. In this situation our devices should be resetting. This seems to be one of those situations where we're not properly clearing our image cache, even though we do call imgLoader::ClearCache in HandleDeviceReset.

Seth, any idea what could keep images around after we've called ClearCache with both true and false for arguments?
