Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 Build ID: 20151101030343 Steps to reproduce: 1. Navigate to "https://pdehaan.github.io/push-notification-test/" page. 2. Click on the "pop Notification" button and select "Always Receive Notifications" from door-hanger. 3. Hover over the notification. 4. Move the focus away from the notification. Expected results: The notification is dismissed after a period of time. Actual results: The notification is not dismissed. This behavior is not encountered on Windows 7 or on Mac OS X 10.7. Reproducible also on the latest Aurora build: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0 Build ID:20151102004045

I can't reproduce this on OS X with XUL notifications. Will test on Ubuntu next week.

Hi Kit, yes it is Ubuntu Specific. Please see below ... Hover interferes with Time to Live on Ubuntu Version 49.0a1 Build ID 20160606030219 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 It appears the Time to Live may be effected, when one hovers over the notification. For clearer observation check this: 1) Access https://serviceworke.rs/push-simple_demo.html 2) Set Notification Delay to 5 seconds 3) Set Notification Time-To-Live to 10 seconds. 4) Click [Try to conquer Italy!] button Wait and observe after 5 secs the notice is displayed, wait 10 seconds and observe the notification is auto dismissed. 5) Click [Try to conquer Italy!] button again. 6) Wait for notification to appear and then hover over it for about 3 seconds Observe: Doesn't matter how long wait time is, the notice will no longer auto dismiss.

Confirmed with XUL notifications on Ubuntu. Thanks, Michelle and Simona! Mine doesn't dismiss after 20 seconds if I hover over it, either. We'll triage this at the work week.

Closing this as WORKSFORME since this is not reproducible anymore using latest Firefox 123.0 build on Ubuntu 22.04 x64 - the notification is now dismissed after mouse hover.
