I'd like a set of tables from pipeline-redshirt.dev.mozaws.net to be queryable in our tableau instance.

I suspect that will involve :relud and Josephine coordinating some sane access setup.

Hi Daniel, what's the port number for this server?
I need to check if I can run command netcat to the server from my terminal. From the result I will know if I need to contact the netops team.

josephine: the port is 5432, and tableau doesn't have access to it yet. It's in aws, and I need to know the outbound IPs of tableau in order to open firewall rules on our side. Netops will need to be contacted to allow tableau outbound access to pipeline-redshift.dev.mozaws.net (which should resolve to a static ip address). If you want to access pipeline-redshift.dev.mozaws.net:5432 from your workstation, we'll also need to add you to a vpn access group, and you'll need to be on the mozilla vpn.

Josephine - the outbound IPs of tableau can be found by going to tableau1/2/3 (with remote desktop), opening a browser window and going to http://whatsmyip.org/

tableau1 (stage), tableau2 (prod) and tableau3 (prod failover) all have the same outward facing IP - 63.245.214.163

Josephine will definitely want to access from her workstation, and you should probably add myself and Heather Crince too, as backup ([e-mail], [e-mail] and [e-mail]).

Does that help? We will still need to request outbound netflows from the tableau servers, which we will request of netops.

tableau servers should be able to reach redshift now, and vpn access to the host is pending Bug 1227747

"able to reach redshift now" on our end, i haven't filed anything for an outbound netflow. you want to be able to reach 52.27.157.113:5432 from the tableau servers.
