RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1176929

People

(Reporter: sebastian, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:42.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0
Build ID: 20151105171148

Steps to reproduce:

Since version 42.0 of Firefox Ctrl+K no longer seems to work when the current keyboard focus is inside the location bar. When the focus is somewhere on the web page, it works as expected.

Actual results:

The keyboard focus remains in the location bar.

Expected results:

The keyboard focus is given to the "Web search" text control.
PS: The new Ctrl+J alias does not have that problem.
It would be nice to have Ctrl+K working again though, since that would remain the one working across different versions. Many thanks.
This should be fixed in Firefox 43. Please test the latest beta in a brand new profile, and reopen this report if you can still reproduce the issue.
