>> Feature Request Summary:
Add text labels to the setting icons on the notifications tray to make their purpose clearer

>> Description of feature, or problem to be solved
Using the Z3C foxfooding device with the latest FOTA/OTA installed (build number: eng.naoki.20151007.074137, build identifier 20151023101519).

STR:
1) Drag down from the top of the screen to open the notifications tray
2) Look at the settings icons as the bottom of the tray

Expected:
The icons also have text labels (eg "Wifi", "Data", etc; like Android), so it's easier to work out what each one is for. This is particularly useful for novice users.

Actual:
There is only the icon and no next label.

From UX triage:

Unfortunately, in the current design there isn't enough room to add text labels while keeping the text legible while keeping in mind localization issues. We think that the most confusing one of the set (not looking at the add-on which adds more) is data. NI to Eric to see if there's something we can do there.

We will keep this in mind though for Alopex.

Thanks for pinging the UX team!

Thank you for your reply.
For the data icon, there's discussion in bug 1222952 if that helps.
