Are you using Mac laptop? If so, please confirm you've enabled bluetooth sharing as https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18969 .

Set up your computer for sharing files
1) Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sharing.
2) Select the Bluetooth Sharing checkbox.
3) Choose your options.

Nice, that fixes the problem. Can we get better UX around this? Our error message is really not helpful here.

Well, this had been asked for dozen times. I guess we already discuss this with UX in older bug.

Bug 1180796 and bug 1181393. Also bug 1094774 and bug 1090876 are Yosemite bugs of empty sharing folder path.

Bug 826399 is the same. And bug 949554 has some discussion on more informative UI message.
