Installing add-on gives install failed AND marketplace says App Install error : INVALID_PACKAGE

Steps to reproduce:

Go to marketplace -> add-ons
Install any add-on -> Install -> Install

What happens:

2 popups with errors:
1. Install failed (is this thrown by the system?)
2. app install error Invalid package (this looks like it's thrown by marketplace)

What should have happened:

The add-on should have just started to work.


Additional info:

The add-on icons come on the homescreen. But when you click on them it asks to download the app again.
