Hi reporter,
unfortunately this report is not very useful because it does not describe the problem well. If you have time and can still reproduce the problem, please read https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines and add a more useful description to this report.

Your description sounds like Bug 1207766 - Firefox 41 hangs (not responding) on tweakers.net/nieuws.
FF 41 had a "dot" release (FF 41.0.1) that fixed the issue on their end.
SeaMonkey 2.38 did not, so the problem persisted for us.
(You would /think/) that SeaMonkey 2.39 does now have the same fix.
So, update to SeaMonkey 2.39 & see if the problem persists.

I still see the screen becoming grey and for 1/2 ... few minutes no SeaMonkey action will be possible.

Still REPRODUCIBLE with official en-US SeaMonkey 2.48a1 (NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:51.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0 Build 20160804000913 (Default Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit every now and then. Screen becoming gray and for 1/2 ... few minutes no SeaMonkey action will be possible. Mostly on pages with frills, but currently I have no plausible suspect. I will try to narrow down the root of the problem.

Flash and all other plugins are dead. If this occurs on a particular page best to open a new bug report but ask in a support group before.
