I have my forum password but it may predate 2010 and lately it hasn't been working. I tried to get it reset and the Mozilla website said it had sent me an email. It said so in the past tense, i.e., that it had already been sent. Despite several tries and weeks of waiting, none has ever arrived, not even in the spam folder, and I never use spam filtering. Since I already had the account, my email address as typed is not wrong. I've searched mozilla.org for an email contact, such as for a problem with Mozilla's own website, in this case that it never sent an email when it said it had. Contacting two general email addresses for Mozilla, including one found in Whois, got no answer. So I can't log into the forum and start a thread with a question. Password reset needs something. Bug 1027413, bug 1131058, and bug 1213531 seem relevant.

A question was raised by email whether this is still a problem. It's 6 years old and I think Mozilla would have fixed it by now if it had affected a tenth of users who had lost passwords. I'm closing, if I can. If I didn't, feel free to.
