I wrote a message which I tried to post to n.p.m.general. It wasn't working, so
I stopped the send and I closed the message and saved it to the draft folder. I
then went into the drafts folder, started editing it again, clicked send and waited.
I got an error message saying that mozilla was unable to connect to the netscape
news server and was unable to send the message. When I clicked okay, both the
compose dialog box and copy of the message in the drafts folder dissapeared.
After checking the different folders I found it in the sent folder. Now if it
didn't send, why did it get put in the sent folder?
What build was this? This seems to be an edge case. I can't reproduce this
with a bogus newsgroup, so this requires a valid newsgroup and network transport
problems to fail. I failed to send my message posting, and didn't get any
message copies to Local Folder -> Sent. Over to Ducarroz.

"Achim wrote: ... ISP requires SMTP authentication. For some reason I did not correctly configure the outgoing server settings, but when sending emails, I did not receive any error messages and the mail was transferred to the "sent" folder"
do we know if the underlying networking issue was resolved? I've read something somewhere :(
