mozilla.dev.tech.gfx was decommissioned in bug 685268, but it seems like it never really went away properly - it's still on the news server and Google Groups. And now, :milan wants to revive it anyway.

Can mozilla.dev.tech.gfx please be revived? If that's not technically possible, can it be fully deleted, and we'll try and create a new one?

The only way this will work is by removing mozilla.dev.tech.gfx completely and starting new.
 
Emailed giganews requesting to remove (reference ticket 149648). Please allow 24-48 hours for turnaround.

Google group still contains spam from 2010 and other old postings.

My understanding is when any newsgroups are deleted, Google still keeps them as archived and accessible.  In this specific request we had deleted and then created again mozilla.dev.tech.gfx.  Do you want me to ask google support to see if they can delete all the old posts from that newsgroup?

So, only issue with deleting and recreating the group is that all existing subscriptions on our end would also be deleted.  If that's ok, then we can do that.
