I use irccloud and have enabled its notifications. When Firefox displays a notification popup for an irccloud alert, I clicked the popup's drop down menu to select "Notification Settings" (because I wanted to see what options were UI available). But selecting "Notification Settings" did do anything.
Is this on Nightly?
Yes. I'm using Nightly 45. I tested Firefox 42 and Aurora 44, but their notification popups do not have the drop down menu.
Bizarre! I broke the drop-down in bug 1220337, but it should be fixed in bug 1224738. I just tested again with this page: https://people.mozilla.org/~ewong2/push-notification-test/. If I click "pop Notification," then select "Notification settings" from the drop-down, `about:preferences#content` opens in a new tab. I can get this to work in today's Nightly, on OS X 10.9.5, 10.10.5, and 10.11.1, with e10s enabled and disabled. The alert style is set to "Banners" in System Prefs > Notifications. Would you mind testing with that page and sharing your results, please? Maybe it's something specific to IRCCloud notifications? Thanks, Chris!
On the push-notification-test page, the "Notification Settings" menu item DOES work correctly, though the menu items are grayed out as if they are disabled (but they are not disabled). I just tested irccloud's notification popups again and now they work, too. I will close as WFM.
