1227177 - Cannot get the customization applied for a particular mcc/mnc

I cloned gaia:  https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia.git

I cloned this repo: https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/qa-testcase-data.git

And went to https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/qa-testcase-data/tree/gh-pages/customization/reference

Here I made changes in variant.json file. I changed the id operator and also the mcc/mnc so that the configuration would apply for my SIM Card. (Let me attach an example of the variant.json file).
I also created a folder called simyo*, where I stored these three files, they are the same files that are in tmobileus but with the new name:
simyo_contacts.json
simyo_support_contacts.json
simyo_wallpaper.json


With Flame with 2.5 and Flame 2.0 and having gaia in the correct branch, then I run this command: MOZILLA_OFFICIAL=1 GAIA_DISTRIBUTION_DIR=../qa-testcase-data/customization/reference make production

But I only get the default settings, for example, I get the contacts defined in this contacts.json and de default homescreen:

but not the contacts I added in the variant.json for the mcc/mnc I want to check

When I run MOZILLA_OFFICIAL=1 GAIA_DISTRIBUTION_DIR=../qa-testcase-data/customization/reference make production, I do not get any explicit error and the device starts normally.

*I also tried just modifying the variant.json with my new mcc/mnc with same result.

So, the mcc/mnc change I do is not taken into account. Not sure if I should change more files or what should I be missing.
