User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:41.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/41.0
Build ID: 20150917150946

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open http://rainwave.cc/beta/
2. Open/close the Library and Request panels at the top
3. Close everything

Actual results:

In rare cases, the animations do not finish their transition and remain "frozen" on the page.

For some of my users this happens very often, though it is not 100% reproducible. I have personally seen this bug on my own PC, though extremely rarely and usually only when I have the debugger on.

Turning off OMTC fixes the problem for my most heavily affected users - safe mode does not help.

Expected results:

The animations should always complete.
Here is one of my most affected user's about:support.
Summary: Composited transitions don't always finish in rare cases → Compositor transitions don't always finish in rare cases
One of my users was experiencing it quite badly at one point and recorded this video. It's clear their Firefox is already fairly heavily burdened in some way as no transitions are smooth, however at the end you'll see that the opacity and translate transitions are not fully finished, and blue bars are visible through what should be an opaque background where my user is circling with their mouse cursor.

The affected user (whose about:support is attached above) rebooted their PC after this and reported that it was much better behaved afterwards, but they could still replicate the issue with some reliability unless they turned off OMTC.
hiro, dbaron, do you know of any bugs that might cause this? Basically, it seems like we are failing to paint the last frame of a compositor animation in some cases in current release builds. Moving the mouse doesn't seem to help either.

Affected user has told me that it happens to them with fair frequency when YouTube's player control bar fades out as well - could be another avenue for attempting to replicate?
Although my linux box can't play the video, I think this issue is highly relevant with bug 1204336.
I have no idea which bug causes this yet, I am going to investigate later.
I am leaving ni request for now.
I've been trying to reproduce this issue both on my old windows7 laptop and linux, but can't yet.

I found a similar bug (bug 1125606) but that seemed to happen before OMTA was enabled.

Hi Rob! Have you heard any more reports of this? Do you know if it is still happening?
Flags: needinfo?(rmcauley)
Nope, Project Silk seemed to have cleaned this up fairly neatly. No reports in months!
