User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:42.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0 Build ID: 20151029151421 Steps to reproduce: In Windows XP/Firefox 42/Preferences/Privacy have UNCHECKED Always use private browsing mode CHECKED Remember my browsing and download history CHECKED Remember search and form history CHECKED Accept cookies from sites CHECKED Clear history when Firefox closes (everything CHECKED under Settings...) Have Google search set in the Search Bar. Search "matrix" in the search bar. Close Firefox, everything should have been cleared! Open Firefox, go to Search Bar, write "matrix" .... You will see a clock near the matrix word. Actual results: You will see a clock near the "matrix" word. Why? This means the "Clear history when Firefox closes" didn't work on "Form & Search History". Expected results: No clock near the "matrix" term. The history on the Search Bar should have been cleared.

Test it on OS X El capitan. It does not happen there.
Because I was running Windows XP in a virtual machine, things are slow... if I wait 30 seconds after I close Firefox and reopen Firefox, the Search Bar is cleared.
