What exact versions of Thunderbird and Lightning have you installed? Have you installed Lightning separately or is this bundle by Mint as well? Can you please retry with all addons disabled and then only enable Lightning and see if there is still a hang? Next would be to enable Google provider additionally. Are you able to access the error console and provide all the messages?
I install the thunderbird (1:38.3.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1) that came with Mint and install lightning-4.0.3.1-sm+tb-linux.xpi downloaded from mozilla web site I had, yesterday, disable then reable all the extentions with the same result ie hang! I then, I uninstall the Provider for Google Agenda 1.0.4 (no hang) then I reinstall provider and hang was there, and waiting several minutes to have a UI in thunderbird window. Thunderbird is not responding or so slow that it is unsuable. Give me a way to retreive error console message, and I will post them! BTW, I uncheck the anniversery/birthday calendar/agenda
I can confirm. Version 2.7 seems to fix this. After creating an account with multiple calendars and a task list, Thunderbird freezes for up to a day (I have just about 500 events which are already synchronized). Ubuntu 16.04 (daily) x64 Thunderbird 38.5.1 Lightning 4.0.5.1 Provider for Google Calendar 1.9 (installed by system) I will tel Ubuntu to update to Provider for Google Calendar 2.7 which seems to be OK.
(In reply to Petr Chmelar from comment #3) > I can confirm. Version 2.7 seems to fix this. Denis, do you agree?
