See attached screenshot. I saw this a couple of times on the Nexus 6P today (Nightly): The QR code scanner and microphone icons are visible in the toolbar (and I can click them) even though I am not in editing mode.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this reliably - it might be a timing issue on very fast devices.

* Once it happened after clicking on "Sign in to Firefox Beta" in first-run.
* Another time it happened after clicking on a link in a different app.

I think Chenxia fixed a bug related to this (that I reviewed). Chenxia, do you know which one this is?

In any case, it looks like we're displaying web content while entering editing mode.

This looks a lot like what happened in bug 1225092 - in that case, we were trying to show the keyboard (by calling enterEditingMode()) but immediately leaving editing mode. The specific case was when leaving first run by entering the Account setup flow. That patch is landed now - let me know if you continue to see this problem.

I just duped a bug to this that shows up in 42. It appears this isn't strictly a regression from the firstrun bug, and there is some other race condition or problem with keeping track of state.

I haven't seen it anymore and since implementing runtime permissions I've been using the 6P only every day. My best guess is this is fixed.

I haven't seen this bug either, so I'm going to close this bug. Can reopen if it shows up again.
