To achieve this the css contains a rule for ".slider .noslide" which is invoked via js but is also immoderately revoked. I assume this is the reason why the slider scrolls back to the start, instead of giving the impression of a carousel animation. Adding a delay to the removal of the class might help here. (observed in Nightly and Chrome when clicking through the slider elements)
