Sorry for not raising this sooner.

The Fundraising website: https://donate.mozilla.org/ro/  has possibly old OpenSans fonts. This is a recurring issue in Mozilla's websites and it's been slowly stamped out.

These old fonts lack Romanian glyphs so the webapp replaces them with glyphs from the first alternative 'sans' font.

I'm on Fedora and will get a Windows rendering of this tomorrow too.

It's very likely a problem with the embedded fonts, and you just have the adequate system fonts installed (not reliant on the embedded ones).

Several mozilla sites (including mozilla.org) used to have this same problem.

I think Pascal and Mathjazz may have more on this.

Hm, then it may be the same issue as Bug 907793.

A similar issue. In that bug the fonts had the glyphs, but the diacritical mark was wrong. Here the glyphs are missing altogether (substituted with those from the next alternative font).

donate.mozilla.org is using Google's Open Sans, while we're using a patched version provided by jfkthame

Fixing this problem might not be as easy as using the same font. I noticed Google's webfont has the new Ruble symbol
