Details
Reproduced on Mac OS X 10.11, Windows 7 64-bit, and Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit using:
*Firefox 42
*Firefox 43 beta 8
*latest 44.0a2 Aurora
*latest 45.0a1 Nightly
STR:
1. Open Firefox using a clean profile.
2. Open any website (i.e. google.com)
3. In the same tab, go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/w3c-geolocation
4. Press the Back button.
5. Press the Forward button.
Expected Result:
The page loads again and the geolocation doorhanger is correctly displayed at its position.
Actual Result:
The location indicator is displayed from the global indicator, instead of the location indicator.
If the user has the mouse pointer on the geolocation doorhanger, it remains displayed there. If not, it moves to it’s original position in about 1 second.

Notes:
This is not a recent regression.
I’ve also seen it with the http://html5demos.com/geo page (although a reload of the page is necessary after step 5 in order to reproduce is with this page).

I've been trying to bisect this, but reproducing has been a bit more intermittent that I'd like. I think what's going on is that the doorhanger is positioning as if there was a forward button even if there isn't one.

Maybe Paolo has a clue.

Yes, I think so. As noted, when the mouse is moved out of the panel, it is repositioned correctly after a delay.
Although sub-optimal for the specific case, this is the expected behavior of panels.
I don't see an easy route for improvement here. In the future, all these panels will be anchored to the global "i" indicator, and this will not be an issue anymore.
