Details

Whenever I exit mozilla, all of the windows close, leading me to believe that it has shut down completely. However, when I try to open it again, I see the cursor change to an hourglass briefly, and nothing happens. If I open my application manager, I see various mozilla processes listed, including windows from the previous session, but I cannot reopen them. If I terminate any of these processes, I can (sometimes) get mozilla to launch. A few times, it has prevented network access by ANY application, in which case I must reboot.
Reporter: Have you installed Mozilla in an empty directory ? (not over an older build) Can you try a new mozilla profile (run "mozilla -profilemanager" to create an additional test profile) Do you use quicklaunch aka trubo ?
Mozilla 0.9.7 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 First installation of mozilla on this machine. I do not use quicklaunch. That puts an icon in the systray, correct?
Confirming on Build ID: 2002020103, Windows 98SE. I've seen this bug for a few weeks now.

Is this still a problem with a clean install of a current build into a clean directory and a new profile?
The summary says this is an 0.9.7 bug. Since confirming the bug, this problem has gone away for me. Reporter, is this bug happening for you in 0.9.8?
Since 0.9.7 this bug happens (and still happens in 0.9.9) on two diffrent PC's - one with win98 and one with win98se. With or without enabling quicklaunch.
For me this bug depends on Bug 108847. After disabling 'Empty Trashcan on exit' mozilla exits cleanly on win98. But there was no hint for this because first closing the Browser window and then the mail window seemed to work - but it leaves mozilla in the task list.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020308 I no longer experience this bug.

If you still get this problem, you should try a new profile..
