Tim, Jen and I met to review mozilla.org and decide where to include our new mission statement and concluded that the /mission page needs updating. Kevin, you will need to work this copy into the existing copy or use this and start from scratch: Ensure the Internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all. An Internet that truly puts people first, where individuals can shape their own experience and are empowered, safe and independent.

Kevin, here is updated copy, the official mission statement from CBeard: To ensure the Internet is a global public resource open and accessible to all. An Internet that truly puts people first. An Internet where individuals can shape their own experience. An Internet where people are empowered, safe and independent.

Hi Mike, I just got an email about this bug this morning, saying it was overdue. I had no idea this existed. Do you still need writing for this?

If so, hows about this? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mission/ <h1> We’re building a better Internet <h2> Our mission is to ensure the Internet is a global public resource open and accessible to all. <p> Mozilla is a global community of technologists, thinkers and builders working together for an Internet that truly puts people first, empowering them to shape their own experiences as informed contributors and creators. We believe human collaboration across an open platform is essential to individual growth and our collective future. Read the Mozilla Manifesto to learn even more about the values and principles that guide the pursuit of our mission. <Mozilla Manifesto link: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/manifesto/>

Or this, which thins out that last sentence: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mission/ <h1> We’re building a better Internet <h2> Our mission is to ensure the Internet is a global public resource open and accessible to all. <p> Mozilla is a global community of technologists, thinkers and builders working together for an Internet that truly puts people first, empowering them to shape their own experiences as informed contributors and creators. We wanted to add the language about the type of Internet we envision: Mission & Vision: Our mission is to ensure the Internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all. An Internet that truly puts people first, where individuals can shape their own experience and are empowered, safe and independent. So that would be the update to <h2>. I can imagine that we're about 2 months away from wanting to update the copy in the paragraph. Mike - is it a pain to go back in and update that separately?

Hi MEM, it's fine (a trivial task) to update this now and update the paragraph copy later.
