>>>   My Info:   Win7_64, Nightly 46, 32bit, ID 20151221030239
STR:
1. Open new tab
2. Type "asdf.asdf" in urlbar without quotes, press Enter
3. While the url is loading (== no response from server?) detach tab in separate window

Result: Url isn't displayed for several seconds
Expectations: Url should appear immediately after detaching tab in a new window

Note:
I chose "asdf.asdf" because it's a reliable url that always returns connection error
Watch "screencast 1" to see how it happens with "mail.com" with my unstable internet connection
Sometimes browser gets a response after a while and actually loads the page, so
this isn't only "Connection error" case.
This happens in e10s mode AND non-e10s mode.

So basically URL just resets after Step 3.
To see this behavior, you should open some real URL in Step 1, e.g. http://mail.com/
This is very strange behavior. After Step 3 I can't see what url is loading in the tab.
Summary: Url isn't displayed in location bar if I detach tab in separate window while the page is still loading → Url in location bar resets to previous value if I detach tab in separate window while the page is still loading

This bug refers to all urls, not only those which trigger error page.
On the other hand, bug 1234240 doesn't mention urlbar and it's value.

So if I understand correctly, you are concerned about a blank URL for a few seconds in the new window in this issue and in your other defect (bug 1234240) your complain is about lag between loading on the client and then rendering of the error page on the Firefox browser, right?

If that's the case, I will leave the defect open because I was able to duplicate this issue through some dummy URL.
