User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
Build ID: 20151216175450

Steps to reproduce:

1) Run Firefox on OSX Macbook with no external monitors
2) Suspend (ie, close lid)
3) Plug in external monitors
4) Open lid
5) UI interface elements such as search suggestions all appear in the wrong place

Actual results:

UI interface elements such as search suggestions all appear in the wrong place

Expected results:

UI interface elements should appear somewhat near the place they should be
Component: Untriaged → Location Bar
OS: Unspecified → Mac OS X
See Also: → 1208308
Worth noting that the component has been set to "Location Bar" (because that's what the screenshot shows) but it affects all similar UI elements where a drop down appears (eg, search box, autocomplete on webpage forms)
Component: Location Bar → Widget: Cocoa
Product: Firefox → Core
Priority: -- → P2

Thanks! What version of macOS and Firefox are you running?

Firefox: 56.0 (64-bit)

OSX: 10.12.6, Mid-2014 MBP 15" Retina

What is your macOS Dock set to? Does it always show, or hide when not hovered? Is it on the left, bottom or right side of the screen? If you change the Dock settings, do the dropdown menus start appearing in the right place?

You can check your Dock settings in System Preferences > Dock.

Moving to p3 because no activity for at least 1 year(s).
See https://github.com/mozilla/bug-handling/blob/master/policy/triage-bugzilla.md#how-do-you-triage for more information

Closing for now since we haven't heard back from the reporter. Please reopen when there is more info (see comment 6).
