Steps to reproduce:

I am running IceWeasel from the package 38.5.0esr-1~deb8u2 on Debian 8.2 and Gnome Shell. The Search box on the Toolbar does not have a clear button. I have to select the text and hit delete on my keyboard.
The ESR branch only receives security patches. Please check if the issue can be reproduced in the latest Nightly with a brand new profile.
