Details

I have my mailnews thread pane displaying newest messages at the bottom (thread order is oldest->newest). If I enter a folder, scroll down to the bottom of the message list, select another folder, then come back to the original folder, the thread pane is reset to the top (where the oldest message appears). It would be nice if either: a) the scroll bar remembered where I was b) the thread was automatically scrolled to the newest message
Idea b) seems to be related to bug 76961, bug 80604, and bug 99466. Keep this bug for discussion of idea a) as summary suggests.
It sounds like it's meant to scroll to the newest message if there are new messages. If there's no new, messages, however, the thread view is always scrolled to the top. Again, I think it should do a) or b). In essence, b) means if there's no new messages, the view should scroll to where new messages are expected to be (this is actually the bottom if I'm viewing oldest->newest), rather than always to the top.
