And if you crash frequently, does the crashing stop if you have started Thunderbird in safe mode?

Crash indicates that some Lightning components are missing. Are you using the Lightning package from addons.mozilla.org or some third party package? Does the problem still exists after installing the latest release (currently <https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/addon/lightning/versions/4.0.4.1>)?

Hi, I cconfess I am not sure about Lightning, but I doubt it's not the mozilla version.

And I deleted the app and reinstalled from scratch--same problem.
