User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
Build ID: 20151221130713
Steps to reproduce:
Upgraded Thunderbird to latest 38.5, Lightning to latest 4.0.5.
Entered New Event, details.
When new event End time selected or entered, Start time changed to keep duration same - 60 minutes
Changed Tools/Options/Calendar/General/Event/Default length from 60 to 0.
Closed Lightning pane, closed Thunderbird window, restarted Thunderbird, opened Lightning.
Entered New Event, details.
When new event End time selected or entered, Start time changed to keep duration same - 0 minutes.
Changed Tools/Options/Calendar/General/Event/Default length from 0 to 120.
Closed Lightning pane, closed Thunderbird window, restarted Thunderbird, opened Lightning.
Entered New Event, details.
When new event End time selected or entered, Start time changed to keep duration same - 120 minutes.
Same results originally experienced with previous Thunderbird release and Lightning 4.0.4 before upgrade.
Actual results:
Changing new event start and end times keep the event duration always equal to the default duration set in Tools/Options/Calendar/General/Event/Default duration.
After saving event, still can not change event duration by changing end time - start time changes to keep the duration the same as originally entered, which was the default at the time the event was originally created.
Expected results:
On creating a new event or changing an existing locally created event, changing the event start time also changes the end time to keep the event duration the same, but changing an event end time does not change the event start time and allows the duration to be changed.

Seems that you have enabled the 'keep duration' feature. You can enable or disable the feature by clicking the button with the chain link icon next to start and end time.

How does this get set for new event creation?
This should be reset for (at least) new event creation.
This was not enabled by default prior to 4.0.4.
How do I ensure this is disabled by default in 4.0.5?
Does this remain around as a sticky setting from a previous (new?) event creation or change?
