Steps to reproduce:

Clik on message in Junk. Click on Not Junk in Junk folder. Then drag message back to inbox. Version 38.4.0 and earlier.

Actual results:

Message with correct sender and subject appear in inbox. Bot actual message body is that of a completely different message.

May be in 38.5.0 also. Haven't checked yet.

Expected results:

expected content of message as originally sent
Is there ever a version of Thunderbird where this did not happen to you?

Summary: Message thunderbird thinks is junk is not → Unjunkged message moved to inbox with wrong message body
I have used Thunderbird for several years. I think this has always been a bug for me. Haven't had to unjunk things often though; maybe 4-5 times.

I have Thunderbird send what it thinks is junk to a Local Folder also called junk. I don't use my server junk folder.

Is Inbox in an imap account type?

Wayne: Yes, IMAP for Incoming mail and smtp for outgoing. STARTTLS with normal password in each case.

How did the message get in the junk folder?
Was it from filter you created?
Or was it from the automatic junk processing?

If it was from automatic junk processing, then marking the message as not junk should have put the message right back in the Inbox.

Summary: Unjunkged message moved to inbox with wrong message body → Unjunked message moved to inbox with wrong message body
I haven't created any explicit filters. I guess it was the automatic junk processing. I do tell Thunderbird that some mail is junk. But not ones I may want to unjunk later.

And, when I unjunk something in the Junk folder it remains in the Junk folder. Only way I can return it to Inbox is by dragging. That's when the detachment between header and body occurs.

bruce are you seeing this with version 45?

Have not seen this with 45.3.0. That is, have not seen the wrong matching of header with message body.
