When a redirect happened, a note is shown (in case you have the waffle flag 'redirect-messages' enabled) telling you from where you got redirected. The display of this message is too obtrusive. It should be made more subtle. E.g. something like Wikipedia does may be better. (See the attached mockup.) Sebastian

This means, the note(s) should be shown below the title, maybe in gray, and only show the title of the redirection page instead of the whole URL and link the title with the redirection page.

I like the idea. But IIRC the reason we made the notes so obvious, and only showed them to certain groups, was to encourage people to fix them. I.e., when they are more obvious, editors can see that they need to update the inbound link to the page.

So, maybe show the large note style to super-users, writers, and editors. While showing the minimal style to all other users?

I'd also fix those if the message were not that obvious. (Actually I'm already doing that even when I don't see them currently. :-) ) Though I can just talk for myself and I can get your point. Anyway, I believe, even if the info were less obvious, people knowing about that would remove those redirects. It'd be fine for me to show the messages to a broader group of users as an initial step, though that should be done in a separate bug. Sebastian
