Guys, I have done a clean install of TB 45a2. At the bottom notification it mentions: "open source". An hyphen is missing, so it should be: "open-source". https://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/open-source https://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/american_english/open-source
We could fix the few occurences in TB: /mail/locales/en-US/chrome/messenger/aboutRights.dtd (View Hg log or Hg annotations) line 8 -- ...llName; is free and open source software, built by ... line 65 -- ...ights granted under open source licenses applicable... /mail/locales/en-US/chrome/messenger/aboutRights.properties (View Hg log or Hg annotations) line 8 -- notifyRightsText=%S is free and open source software from the non-profit Mozilla Foundation. However, notice that also mozilla central uses the form without hyphen a lot of times: http://mxr.mozilla.org/comm-central/search?string=open+source&find=&findi=&filter=^[^\0]*%24&hitlimit=&tree=comm-central Yes, there are a few occurrences using "open-source".

The dictionary entry proves that "open-source" is valid English, but it does not prove that "open source" is invalid. The first few hits of a Google search for "open-source software" (without the quotes) all use "open source" rather than "open-source" in prose. This is not important enough either way to warrant effort.
