People

(Reporter: user12327, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:42.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0
Build ID: 20151030085151

Steps to reproduce:

upgraded on ubuntu 12.04 to ff version 43. tried opening web page w/ html5 video tag sourced to h.264 encoded mp4 file w/ no audio. also tried opening mp4 from local hard drive.

Actual results:

black box is displayed, "cannot play because file is corrupt"

Expected results:

version 42 played these videos fine. i expected v43 would too.
OS: Unspecified → Linux
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64
the mp4 files were created by using ffmpeg to pull an rtsp stream from an ip camera. only the video is being recorded. ffmpeg is configured to write the files losslessly to the hard drive w/ no reencoding.
Can you attach such a video file to the bug report, please.

am currently working on several different test cases, more info soon...
Low-size video clip would be better indeed, just record in low resolution if possible, no need HD stuff.
I tried your link, the video is not playable in FF43 and some solder versions (like 41), and not in WMP, I needed to use VLC.
i removed the original try.mp4 that was uploaded earlier. several test cases and results can be found here: http://www.peacecomputers.com/raw/
I can't reproduce the issue on Win 7, all videos play fine with FF43 but not the last one, even with older versions of Firefox.
This is fixed in nightly. I'm going to close this as a duplicate of bug 1233340.
